The Heart of Steel project is the fruit of many Sheffield business' labour; from the donation of Superalloy to legal advice, the entire region can be proud of local business contributions.
Pryor is especially proud to have donated a uniquely adapted Portable Laser Marking System which engraves 90 names on The Heart with superb clarity in just 50 seconds. Pryor Software then records the location of each individual name. See sculptor Steve Medhi laser engraving names on The Heart of Steel below:
Without Pryor’s market-leading software, it would be difficult for members of the public to find the engraved names on The Heart they have funded. The University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) has created an interactive, touchscreen App to use the data captured by Pryor’s software to allow people to access the location of their name on the sculpture.
